In today’s fast-paced digital world, security and performance are critical for any website or web application. Slow loading times and security vulnerabilities can lead to loss of engagement, revenue, and trust. At Linespace, we are committed to providing our customers with powerful tools to optimize their websites. One such tool is Cloudflare, a leading Content Delivery Network (CDN) that enhances security, improves performance, and protects against cyber threats.
What is Cloudflare?
Cloudflare is a globally distributed CDN and security platform that helps websites load faster and remain protected from online threats. By acting as a reverse proxy, Cloudflare caches your website’s content on multiple data centers worldwide, reducing latency and speeding up access for users. Additionally, Cloudflare offers robust security features to guard against DDoS attacks, SQL injection, and other cyber threats.
Key Features of Cloudflare
- Global CDN – Delivers cached content from multiple edge locations worldwide.
- DDoS Protection – Shields websites from volumetric attacks.
- DNS Management – Provides a fast and reliable DNS resolution.
- SSL/TLS Encryption – Ensures secure communication between servers and users.
- Automatic Caching – Reduces load times and bandwidth usage.
- Firewall & Bot Management – Blocks malicious traffic and unwanted bots.
- Image & Script Optimization – Improves website speed with automatic content optimization.
How Cloudflare Works
Cloudflare sits between your website and its visitors, acting as a security and performance-enhancing gateway. When a user requests your website:
- Cache Hit: If the requested content is already stored in Cloudflare’s global network, it is served instantly from the nearest data center.
- Cache Miss: If the content is not cached, Cloudflare fetches it from your origin server, then caches it for future requests.
- Security Check: Cloudflare filters out malicious traffic before it reaches your site, protecting against threats like DDoS attacks, spam, and hacking attempts.
Why Use Cloudflare for Your Website on Linespace?
By integrating Cloudflare with your Linespace-hosted website, you gain multiple benefits:
